Restorative Sleep – Lesson 2

Restorative Sleep · Companion Guide
Nourish:
food & herbs
Keep it simple
Eat whole foods,
and mind the timing.
Whole foods are what your body is meant to run on, whether you eat plant-based or include some meat. They support a healthy gut, which is tied to your circadian rhythm and hormone production. Eat from the rainbow and you’re doing the nutritional work your sleep needs.
The other piece is timing. I find my last meal sits best two to three hours before bed, so my body isn’t still digesting when it’s trying to rest.
2 hrs
is enough for a light, fully plant-based meal
3 hrs
is safer for heavier or meat-based meals
Fish, like sardines or salmon, is the exception for me; it digests quickly and doesn’t sit heavy. Start noticing what’s true for your own body.
The information shared here reflects my personal experience and traditional herbal use. It is not medical advice.
